Thanksgiving Offering

After watching the video above, you may be wondering what is so amazing about the Benin story? In the video, they reference a Jesus Film backpack, used by Pastor Apoolli, when starting the amazing number of churches in Benin. That backpack was purchased by the kids of the East Tennessee District from their Valentine’s for Jesus offering for the 100th anniversary of National Missions International in 2015. Our kids made an impact!!

Only six percent of Myanmar’s population identifies as Christian. Yet, [...]

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Written by Molly Saxon

Nazarene Missions International encourages Nazarenes to join Christians around the world in prayer on November 12, 2017.  The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church provides opportunity for Christians worldwide to focus on those suffering for Christian faith.

Fox news reported on April 4, 2017 that 90,000 Christians are martyred each year.

What is Christian persecution?
Christian persecution is any hostility experienced from the world as a result of one’s identification as a Christian. From verbal harassment to hostile feelings, attitudes and [...]

This Friday and Saturday, our youth will be heading to Knoxville, TN for East Tennessee District NYI Explosion. They will be using the gifts and talents God has blessed them with to compete in talent and sports categories for qualification to compete at Top Nazarene Talent at Trevecca Nazarene University. Hobgood Thanksgiving Dinner

We are participating in the Hobgood Thanksgiving Dinner again this year on November 20th from 6-7:30. Last year, this was a great time together with our community that left us reflecting for weeks on the love of the God we serve.

We are needing several volunteers to help set up and serve this year. We have also volunteered to provide enough desserts to feed 700 people for the dinner. If baking is your gift or if you would be willing to stop [...]

Connection Lunch

We’re looking forward to our Connection Lunch coming up on October 22nd. Connection Lunches not only allow us to get to know you better, but they also give you the opportunity to learn more about other people at Real Life, Real Life’s mission and heart, and the ways that you can become connected. We love Connection Lunches because they give everyone the chance to become part of the heartbeat of Real Life. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend [...]

Be Strong in the Lord

Written by Erik Gernand

When I was growing up, I remember my church hosting this group called “The Power Team.” If you grew up in church, maybe you’ve heard of them. It was a gimmicky thing that some super strong guys did to create an avenue to try and share faith. But the stuff they could do was incredible: tearing license plates in half with their teeth, bending steel bars, breaking concrete blocks and on and on.

My personal favorite was blowing up a 2 [...]

Reflection

Written by Bryan Holmes

I was having one of those quiet and reflective prayer moments this past week inside our family prayer room. There are times throughout the week that I try to go to this place and spend time with the Lord. As my quiet moment went on, I suddenly heard the loud “BANG, BANG, BANG” of the piano coming from the downstairs living room. The prayer room is on the other side of the wall from the living room, [...]

Our hearts are breaking over the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Our District Disaster Response Coordinator, Pastor David Smith is leading a team and is in need of volunteers. The trip is in the early stages of planning, but the team will be headed to the Houston area at the end of October or beginning of November. The team can expect to be traveling [...]
