It is our pleasure to be able to serve together with The Journey Home and others in the city of Murfreesboro on this year’s Community Garden. Produce from the Garden goes into daily meals at TJH, foodboxes for the poor in our city & hopefully this year will support two full-time local jobs.

This year for the Christmas season we are excited to be joining in the telling of the Christmas story through giving to others. Whereas in past years we have dug wells & planted farms, this year we are choosing three projects.

For a few years now, our congregation has had a partnership with The Journey Home in Murfreesboro, a ministry to the homeless and poor in our community. This past year, however, we were able to move to a new level of involvement with the Community Garden project.
For our Advent Conspiracy project in 2010, our congregation spent less money on gifts and gave instead to help fund the Garden for 2011. We raised almost $2,000 for seeds, starter plants and a potato plow. [...] Read More →
