Current Message Series

At a very basic level, a church is a collection of people who have made a commitment to follow Jesus.  That’s not to say we always follow perfectly, but following Jesus with our whole lives is our goal.

In order to pattern our lives after Jesus’ life more closely, we’re going to be spending the next few months studying the life of Jesus.  Please join us on Sunday mornings as we journey through the life of Jesus together.

Nativity Spotlights

During Advent 2011 we eased into the Christmas story by focusing each week on a different character/object in the Nativity Scene.

Our services during Advent were family style, with our elementary children joining us in the services for drama, crafts and all kinds of interesting experiences!  It was a lot of fun.

Here are the messages from our “Nativity Spotlights” series.

The Life of Joshua

If you’ve ever seen the movies Gladiator or Braveheart, then you’ll have an idea of the kind of world in which the story of Joshua is written.  It’s an epic tale of how a wandering band of refugees move into a land they’ve been promised by God.  At the center of this story is Joshua.  He is the successor to Moses, who led the Israelites out of Egypt and to the brink of the Promised Land.

Sunday mornings during October 2011 [...]

Splash: Making a Difference

This past summer I (Pastor Erik) was with the kids at the pool.  Another dad showed up with his kids and, after a few moments of getting them ready and in the pool, he took a running start and jumped in, “Cannonball!” he yelled at the top of his lungs.  Water went everywhere…and the whole pool was affected by his splash.

Every once in awhile, someone comes along and changes everything.  In the Old Testament we’re treated to regular stories of [...]

The Fruits of the Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. – Galatians 5:22-25

Join us in June and July on Sunday mornings as we learn about living fruitful lives.

Sunday, June 12: Pentecost

This Sunday is Pentecost in the Christian calendar.  We’ll be spending some time working through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1-2.  Join us as we learn about the Spirit that empowers and makes possible the new life in Christ!

Eternity Is Forever

The central claim of Christianity is that because of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, all those who place their trust in him have a hope in a future resurrection as well to an eternal kind of life spent in the presence of the God.  But what happens between now and then?  And what about those who ultimately refuse the love and forgiveness of God in Christ?

Jonah

Ever felt like you knew God was calling you to do something…but you did something else instead?  And then life just completely fell apart?  That’s Jonah.

There’s something to be said for listening to and obeying the “word of the Lord” when it comes to you.  You never know what God might be able to do with simple obedience…maybe save a whole city.
