Real Life Community is glad to be a part of the International Church of the Nazarene.
The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. Today the Church of the Nazarene is located in 156 world areas.
Beliefs are important because it’s what we believe in the deepest parts of our being that determine how we live. Here are our most important beliefs…
We believe:
- In one God, the Creator of all things, who reveals himself as Father, Son and Spirit.
- In Jesus Christ, who being one with the Father, became like us to bring about our salvation.
- That the Holy Spirit is active in the world, drawing us to Him.
- That the Bible is the word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to have a right relationship with God.
- That we are all sinners by nature and by actions, and that we need God’s forgiveness and cleansing.
- That Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again, and that, by trusting in him, we can be restored to a right relationship with God.
- That when we are forgiven, the old record of sin is wiped clean, and we are born anew, thus becoming part of the family of God.
- That after being born again, we need the fullness of God’s Spirit in our lives. When we make a complete commitment to him, he cleanses our spirits, fills us with his love, and gives us the power to live victorious lives of integrity.
- That those who have placed their faith in Jesus will have an eternal home with him in heaven, and those who reject him will suffer eternal separation from God.
- That someday Jesus Christ will return.
