Our story begins in the year 2002 as God called Maridel and John Williams, along with a launch team of 14 adults and 5 children, to lead a new church in Murfreesboro. That team initially began meeting in a rented room in a Holiday Inn and, after a few months, moved to our current location on W. College St.
Real Life was planted with a purpose. Even the name, “REAL” Life means something specific. That early team laid the foundation for Relational People, Enthusiastic Worship, Authentic Christianity and Loving Leaders. Very early on, it was clear that God was at work in our midst as Real Life grew into a unique kind of church in Murfreesboro…round tables and all.
Nine years later God is still at work. The congregation has grown to an average attendance of 100, from all ages, nations, socio-economic positions and religious backgrounds…many of whom have come to faith in Jesus for the first time at Real Life. Our work with the Addiction Recovery Community, The Journey Home in Murfreesboro, AngelFood and participation in Nazarene Compassionate Ministries around the world continue to keep us engaged in practicing the lifestyle of Jesus. And we believe our best days are ahead of us!
