Developing Perseverance

Written by Erik Gernand

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” – James 1:2-3

There are seasons of life that require something extra from us. I remember a particularly difficult time in my life when I had more plates spinning than hands (and feet!) to hold them. I was in the first few years of marriage, in my first ministry position at a [...]

You can choose to buy them 12 inches for $20 or 9 inches for [...]

Special Leadership Elections

Special Leadership Elections

In the past month, we’ve lost a couple of beloved board members. Dan Miller moved to Louisville and Beau Williams responded to God’s call to help First Church and their new pastor. This has created a necessity to have a special election to fill their seats on the board.

Please take a look at the attached ballot and prayerfully work through who you’d like to vote for to fill these leadership roles. We will hold a special election at the church [...]

Nazarene Youth Conference is a movement that changes lives. The movement has inspired young people for many generations to live out God’s call in their life. Our students have the opportunity to attend this life-changing conference in July 2019. The conference happens every four years, so it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Finding the Right Story

Written by Erik Gernand

One of my favorite children’s authors is a guy named Mo Willems. I think his best story is one called “Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs.”

“Wait. What story is that? I thought it was about a girl and some bears.” You might say. And you’d be right to catch that something is not quite right about this story.

It’s the story of three dinosaurs who decide to trap a little girl in their house so they can eat her. They plan everything [...]

Delightful Dew

Written by Ashley Hoffner, missionary in Argentina

Well, the dew is actually frozen…making it frost. But I’m trying to be positive in the freezing weather! (See what I did there?) It’s actually been a very cold Fall so far here in Argentina; reaching down to 29°F (-2°C) and it will surely get colder in July and August.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of my office work (in Finances and Short-Term Teams) and also being able to travel with a [...]

Casserole Drive

Casserole Drive

Every so often, a family comes to our church in need of food. For times like these, we would love to be able to have prepared food in our freezer for them to take home. On September 16th, we will be having a Casserole Drive. Simply bring a dinner dish that can be frozen (in a dish that we can give away) and include cooking directions on the dish. Let’s stock our freezer so that we can prepare for ministry!
